Wow! Thousands of people all striving for the same thing! This isn’t about winning or coming in first. It is about taking steps so your future is brighter and healthier. Each step symbolizes a step closer to that goal. People, young and old, fat and thin, some in wheelchairs, but all pushing past the comfortable, not challenging each other but themselves. One person can make a difference. One thought that started in my doctor’s office nearly a year ago. A challenge to him to walk with me and his challenge to me to get healthy enough to do it. We did it together and hopefully inspired others to do the same. The journey is the reward.
As I sit on the edge of the bed at 3:00 in the morning, I am excited to think how this journey has evolved. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be at the point in my life to agree to walk, jog or run any kind of race, much less an event that draws 25,000 people. I am more worried about the logistics of getting there and finding the team members or rather friends who have agreed to do this with me, than I am about the actual race. I know my leg will be strong as I have worked hard to achieve a fitness level to be able to accomplish this. Here we go….. One hour on the light rail through downtown Phoenix and on to the finish line.
Had interview at my house about my story. This story is about injury, recovery, participation and of course about emotion.
Went to Doctor Cory’s office to film a segment between him and I and talk about the injury and what lead me to this place in my life.
I was contacted by Digitalwire 360 and they want to do a story on ME! It is my journey with my doctor, the injury and recovery. They will do a film
